Clout Depends on Culture Too
The Australian GM is has beentrying hard to change the Singapore office business culture but have not been too smooth about it. He has a number of set-backs since his arrival. His problem is his strong Australian influence. He is unable to convince the others that he is international. In order to make the change, he must have thew clout to push thru his idea and initiatives. He he does not have the clout because of his in-born nature as a foreigner, he must at least have the savvy to win over the company's stakeholders - especially his local key managers.
